Age doesn't matter.

Link Love: The Secrets of How to Age Gracefully

The Freedom of Expressing Your True Self

“It’s this freedom that’s the key to becoming visible again. Not caring what others think is freeing. Expressing yourself any way you want is freeing. Having opinions, emotional wisdom, spiritual understanding…these things free you. And in freedom, we find power.” — quote by Jane Tara from her book The Happy Endings Book Club

As you grow older, you grow wiser, you know yourself better as well as the world around you.  Expressing your true self is incredibly freeing.  As Jane Fonda advised in the link below, “Learn who you really are to become a whole person. It takes a lot of courage because all of the culture is telling us we’re supposed to be this way or that way. Try to be authentic; try to discover it. And stay interested. That’s much more important than being interesting.”

Once you free yourself, make the best of what you have.  Take good care of yourself, even pamper yourself — in body, mind and spirit.  When caring for your outer self, remember to take care of your inner self as well.  Be natural and show your best true self.

The Fountain of Youth

It is never too late to form new habits that can turn back the clock…really!

  • In my opinion, exercise is the fountain of youth.
  • Also, in the link below, “Aging Gracefully the French Way,” staying at a healthy weight is considered important by French women.
  • And we all know that too much sun exposure is unhealthy and even deadly. Twenty minutes in the sun a day provides youth-giving vitamin D, but more than that is harmful.
  • And, of course, love keeps us alive!  My husband and I are happier than ever after 37 years of marriage.

The Key Strategy for Longevity

In the link below, “Aging Gracefully/It’s No Mystery:  We Now Know How,” the core strategy that experts agree can extend life and improve its quality in later years are:

  1. Take a walk – or other exercise for 30 minutes a day
  2. Go out in the sun – 15 minutes three times a week for vitamin D
  3. Drink plenty of water – one ounce per two pounds of body weight every day
  4. Eat a healthy diet – avoid sugars, simple carbohydrates and processed foods
  5. Get a good night’s sleep – it is not true that we need less sleep as we age
  6. Take the right supplements – a multivitamin, fish oil, vitamin D…also curcumin can help prevent and even reverse cancer, Alzheimer’s, osteoarthritis, skin diseases and digestive disorders.
