20 Ways to Wear Red Pants That Will Make You Stand Out

A long time ago, I ordered a red pantsuit but the jacket didn’t fit.  I wondered whether to keep just the pants and my sister said, “Who needs red pants?”  But I didn’t send them back, and I’m glad I still have them.  They add a pop of color to your wardrobe and are good for festive occasions.  If we don’t need them, we still delight in them.  Age doesn’t matter.  But in order to make red pants really useful, you need to stretch your imagination and pair them with pieces that you wouldn’t normally think of.  So in the spirit of helping you to make them as versatile as possible, I have found 20 ways to wear red pants that will make you stand out!

Here are some colors to pair with red pants:

When wearing red pants, pair them with a top in green, teal, turquoise, a similar red, yellow, blue, navy, maroon or pink.  Or you could just add these colors as accessories and wear a neutral top.

Here are some shoe colors that go with red pants:

Red pants or skirts go well with gray, black, navy, white, brown, mint or teal footwear.  Of course, red shoes or boots would be a good match!

1. A black watch plaid blazer + red pants + a toned top.
2. A green top + red pants.  This is great for the holidays, but if the shade of green is different such as blue green or olive this can work all year.
3. A black turtleneck over red pants + a faux fur vest (leopard-print would be good here.)  Add large gold hoop earrings.
4. An orange camisole + red pants + a purple cardigan.
5. An animal-print top + red pants or skirt.  Add a delicate gold necklace + gold hoop earrings.

   

6. A red top + red pants.  Add gold.
7. A red top + red pants + a rust-colored topper.
8. A navy blazer + red pants + any shell top.
9. Any blazer + red pants.  Add a shell top in red or a color toned to the blazer.

   

10. A white top + red pants.  You may also like to add a black moto vest.
11. A white cashmere sweater + red trousers.  You may want to add a statement piece of jewelry and pumps with a sleek hairdo.
