I had a request from a reader who is a dear friend to do a post on how to be comfortable yet sexy in pajamas. I don’t wear much as far as pajamas go…just a sleep shirt or a robe for around the house. So it took me awhile to figure out what to say.
When I finally sat down to research this, it became apparent that comfortable and sexy are not exclusive. The elements that give your day clothes a sexy vibe are the same for sleep and lounge clothes. Take a comfortable pajama and add one or more of the following elements to make it sexy.
Age doesn’t matter. Just choose what looks best on you.
So let’s take a look at what works. I discovered over seven ways to be comfortable yet sexy in your pajamas!

In recent years, ocean-inspired motifs were trending. That dip in the pool has become a full-blown dive into the depths of the mermaid fantasy. Well, what girl doesn’t want to look like a mermaid? Besides its sexy siren connotations, this fantasy look reminds us of the beach and summertime no matter what season we’re in. It’s not just good for evening because modern mermaid style can be incorporated into wearable daytime outfits. Traditional coastal wardrobe pieces are melding with sequins, pearls and shiny embellishments as well as luminescent fabrics and sea colors. Be assured that this is definitely something you can do! What was previously termed Mermaidcore, has grown up into what is now being called Summer Siren. So age doesn’t matter.

We’re in our second heat wave of the Summer and it’s only mid-July. It seems here in the American Midwest that every Summer is one long heat wave nowadays! On hot summer days, I gravitate towards flowing caftans (see my Kaftan Style Guide Here) or loose dresses. But another cool thing to wear is shorts. There are lots of different styles, but the basic is a pair of denim shorts. It’s time to put those on rotation, so I have collected over 25 outfit ideas to make jean shorts fun to wear. Age doesn’t matter. It just depends on what looks best on you and you are the best judge of that. When you wear what you love, you’ll enjoy your day. And that always looks good!
