As I write this, it’s the Autumnal Equinox. The hot weather has suddenly turned cool (or should I say, finally?) It’s time to start adding a topper when we go outside. Jean jackets are perfect for this because they go over anything, as long as you are not dressing up for a fancy event. My next post will be on how to dress these jackets up for evening. But in this post, I’m sharing my outfit ideas for how to wear denim jackets anytime of the year. These outfit combinations are especially good for the transitional weather in Fall and Spring. Think bias-cut or Eileen Fischer or chiffon, silk, georgette, etc. The fit and feel corresponds with the popular slouchy comfort that has been creatively reinterpreted in the fashion world over recent years. It also seems to me that feminine romance has been incorporated into everyday style until it is becoming accepted as normal. I’m thinking of lace and ruffles and the like. Age doesn’t matter. In recent years, ocean-inspired motifs were trending. That dip in the pool has become a full-blown dive into the depths of the mermaid fantasy. Well, what girl doesn’t want to look like a mermaid? Besides its sexy siren connotations, this fantasy look reminds us of the beach and summertime no matter what season we’re in. It’s not just good for evening because modern mermaid style can be incorporated into wearable daytime outfits. Traditional coastal wardrobe pieces are melding with sequins, pearls and shiny embellishments as well as luminescent fabrics and sea colors. Be assured that this is definitely something you can do!
