The Faux Leather Blazer: Almost 40 Ways to Wear It

A leather jacket of any sort is a wardrobe staple, so a faux leather blazer will serve you well. Although black is classic, any color that you love and looks best on you will work; you don’t have to stick with basic black. Joining the opposing characteristics of a conservative design with an edgy material results in a lasting style that always looks new. So age doesn’t matter.

In this post, I am sharing 14 outfit ideas for a black blazer, 9 combinations for other colors, 8 combos for evening outfits, 3 for business and a few more. Once you have a leather blazer, I hope you take these ideas and look through your closet to find new ways to wear it.

Ways to Wear a Black Faux Leather Blazer

1. Pair a black faux leather blazer with a black leather skirt, black leather leggings or black suede leggings.
2. Combine a black leather blazer & black gauchos or crops with an interesting shell top. Add a wide black belt & black boots.
3. Wear a black leather blazer over a black sequined tank top or sheer black blouse & black pants or skirt. Add black boots. You might like to substitute a color for the black top or bottoms.
4. Combine a black leather blazer with a black pencil skirt and a black shell.
5. Wear a black leather blazer over a gray flannel pencil skirt & a top of your choice. 
6. Pair a black leather blazer with a red dress. Add black & gold beads or necklaces & tall black boots. 
   

   

7. Wear a black leather blazer with black pinstriped pants and a shirt or blouse.
8. Button a black leather blazer over a lace-edged camisole over black pants. Add a gold necklace, earrings & bracelets.
9. Wear a black leather blazer with trousers & a top of your choice.
10. A black leather blazer + a black turtleneck + black faux leather leggings. Add biker boots + crystal earrings. Layer a cuff with a chain & a couple of narrow bangles (on the outsides.) 
    

    

11. For easy style, wear a black leather blazer with a black top & jeans. For instance, tuck a black turtleneck into blue jeans and belt in black. Then top with a black leather blazer.
12. Black leather blazer + a turtleneck + jeans. Add a black beret or beanie & dangle earrings.
13. Combine a black leather blazer with a brown sweater & dark denim jeans. Add hoop earrings & bangles & maybe a printed scarf.
14. Try a black leather blazer with a brown lace top & bottoms of your choice.

Ways to Wear a Leather Blazer in Other Colors

1. Wear any color leather blazer over a column of color (same color top & bottom.)
2. Combine a colored leather blazer and straight-cut jeans with:  a black tunic, a big shirt, a longer-length top, a peplum top or a lace top. Add any kind of heels.
3. Match a blue sweater to a pair of blue jeans and top with a faux leather blazer in whatever color you have. Then simply add hoop earrings.
4. A burgundy leather jacket goes well with a charcoal scarf and/or top. If a charcoal scarf, wear a black top & bottom. If a charcoal top, wear with a matching skirt or pants or black jeans. 
5. With a burgundy leather blazer, wear a navy top & blue jeans. Add a navy shawl wrapped around neck with the ends tucked under the front + booties + silver rings. If sunny, add sunglasses. 
   

   

6. Wear a brown leather blazer with a toned color shirt or blouse tucked into jeans.
7. Add a teal or wedgwood blue top to a burgundy leather blazer & blue jeans.
8. Other colors to wear with a burgundy blazer are emerald or forest green.
9. A leopard-print top & black pants go with any color leather blazer.
10. Make jeans & a tee more interesting by throwing on a leather blazer, especially in a unique color.

Evening Looks

1. Dinner:  Wear a burgundy or other color blazer with a leopard-print tank top & a slim skirt such as a pencil skirt, whether short or long. Layer short delicate gold necklaces. Wear a cuff and/or bracelets and a statement ring.
2. For Dark Romance style:  Top a short black dress with a burgundy leather blazer. Add black tights + tall boots + black faux leather fingerless gloves + a crescent necklace & earrings .
3. Pair a black leather blazer with a black dress. Add a black clutch and jewelry of your choice.
4. Top a sweater dress with a black faux leather blazer or moto vest. Add a statement necklace or other piece of statement jewelry. 
   

   

5. Top a sequined or beaded dress with a leather blazer. Add boots, or sheer black stockings & heels.
6. Combine a black leather blazer with black velvet pants & a silky shell in a different color. Add black heels & bag.
7. Wear a black leather blazer over a black lacy tank top & black palazzo pants. Add gold:  big gold necklaces, etc.
8. Dress up a black leather blazer by slipping a black sequin tank underneath. Wear with brown or gray pants or blue jeans.

Ways to Wear a Faux Leather Blazer for Business

1. For business of any sort:  Combine the winter colors of a black blazer with a teal top and gray pants.
2. Wear a black leather blazer with black trousers & a ruffled top. Add high-tops, sneakers, oxfords or pumps. 
3. Combine a leather blazer with a silky top & tailored trousers.

A Few More Outfit Ideas

1. Pair any color leather blazer with an animal-print dress. 
2. Wear a leather blazer over a matching top & bottom set. Add a tassel pendant & some earrings.

Even when your leather blazer is a bright color, adding black to your outfit emphasizes the edgy vibe.
