Age doesn't matter.

New Style Tip Plus How to Wear It

Hello, and welcome to another in my series of Style Tips!  Now that the weather is warming up here in Detroit, I feel ready to go sleeveless.  With that in mind, I have a new style tip to share with you.  As a bonus, I have (guess what?) ways to wear it!  😉  That’s my specialty.

Age doesn’t matter.  If you don’t like to show your arms, you can add a lace or sheer or fishnet top underneath your sleeveless top.  Or you could wear a t-shirt under it.  Or you can just go sleeveless in your home with your loved ones, and then add a sheer or lightweight layer on your way out the door.  There are infinite possibilities…well, almost.  Lol!

Whatever you decide, check out my Style Tip of the Day.

Today’s Style Tip:

Try to find a tank top with wider straps and a higher neckline in a different color that can go with an outer layer tank.  Pair them with jeans, pants or a skirt.

A tank top can actually allow you to wear any revealing top, sleeveless or not, by providing a modest base.  And by layering two tank tops together, you double your outfit possibilities because one tank will look different when paired with varying colors, patterns and textures.

Some Outfit Ideas:

  • A black lacy skirt + a tan or white tank top + a yellow or tan camisole over it.  Add a wide brown belt over the tops; a big gold or brass necklace, bangle & dangle earrings; and tan sandals.
  • Two different-color tank tops over a maxi skirt embellished with sequins.  Add a brown or tan belt over the tops + flat brown sandals + loads of delicate bracelets.
  • Two tank tops toned to the colors in a printed skirt.  Add a belt over the tanks + a long pendant + loads of bracelets + sandals + a straw fedora.  You might like to add some colored hair spray or chalk (like blue).
  • A white tank top over a black tank + a printed skirt with black ground.  If the skirt has other colors in it, you might want the top tank to match one of those colors instead.  Add brown or tan heeled sandals + a watch and/or bracelet.
  • A black tank top over a white tank + a gray maxi skirt.  Add black sandals + hoop earrings.
  • Two tank tops + a tiered skirt + jean jacket.
  • Two tank tops over a crinkle skirt.  Add a brown or tan belt over the tops + flat brown or tan sandals + an arm party of delicate little bracelets.

  • A striped tank top over a solid tank + pants.  Add sandals and metallic jewelry.
  • Layer a tank top over a lacy tank. Wear with any bottoms.
  • A pretty-color tank top over a cream tank + a casual beige skirt.  Add a beige cap, sparkly cascade earrings, a sparkly bracelet and some sandals.
  • An aqua tank top over a white tank over a casual white skirt (i.e., white denim.)  Add turquoise and coral bead necklaces.
  • Layer two tanks over white cargo pants.  You might like to add a long scarf in cotton matched to the color of one of the tanks (one end in front, one in back.)  If you need to, pin the scarf in place with a brooch or button.  Add bracelets, earrings, or bangles with a watch (in a color to match the tops).  Add sandals or sneakers.  If sunny, add sunglasses.
  • Layer a lacy tank over a tank top. Dress it up with trousers and heeled sandals.
  • Two tanks (a color over white) + cargo pants.  Add a fine gold necklace + a brown bracelet + sandals.
  • Two aqua tanks over gray pants.
  • Two tank tops + khaki shorts.  You might like to add leopard-print footwear.
  • Two tank tops + jean shorts.
