This spring and summer, plaid is trending even though it is commonly thought of as a Fall print. Think of it as yet another rule broken in order to create something new. Plaid is not too far off from gingham, so it actually makes some sense when you think about it. In their spring shows, designers have used plaid in lightweight materials in jumpsuits, dresses, tops, skirts, shorts, pants, shoes, bags, etc. You could even try plaid nail art! My sister passed on to me her vintage 1980’s black watch plaid blazer back when I was working an office job. It’s still useful and always will be. A plaid blazer is an autumn/winter staple that can go from work to weekend. Age doesn’t matter. I have 33 ideas here for how to wear it. These ideas go beyond the matching suit. So if you have a plaid suit, you might want to break out that blazer and see what else it can do!
Since the plaid blazer is a print, I start out with print mixing ideas. Then I have a few ideas for wearing it with dresses and skirts.
