Fun in the Sun:  at the Resort

The dress above also comes in black.  I have found a casual little black dress to be handy on my travels.  It goes from day to evening, and can be comfortably worn just about anywhere (as the name of the dress above; lol!)

A kimono is also a handy item on your travels.  You can dress up a comfy basic outfit of jeans and a tee or shorts or whatever.  Or you can use it as an evening wrap.  And then it comes in handy as a bathing suit cover up as well.

For resort evening events, wear a t-shirt with a matching bottom in pale dove gray, pale pink or white.  Add metallic accessories.

Outfit Ideas for the Resort:

Kimono over Carlotta Swimsuit from Sundance
  1. A kimono or tunic as a bathing suit coverup.
  2. A crochet top + matching tank or camisole + neutral pants.
  3. A breezy top or tee + linen pants or skirt.  Add sandals + a straw hat.
  4. Beige skirt + beige bare t-shirt + pale pink cardigan.  Add natural canvas sandals.
  5. A long tunic-length shirt, in a lightweight material such as cotton or linen, as a swimsuit coverup.  You might like to add a long pendant + a narrow bangle.
  6. A tunic-length tank top or t-shirt over a matching color drawstring skirt.  Layer a short gold medallion + a longer gold chain + another long chain with medallions, charms or beads.  Add a few gold cuffs/bangles on each wrist.  Carry a straw bag.

  • The sheer white dress over the slip dress is gorgeous. I also love the kimono and I think I need that Soft Surroundings dress, just as a summer dress. Several years ago, I crocheted a black sleeveless coverup, but it stretched out when I wore it, lol

    • Sounds like a list is forming for going clothes shopping? Lol! There’s such a heat wave going around the world, these would be handy, whether at the water or anywhere else! Thanks for sharing – Angie

  • These are all great options and I have a handful of these myself! I love the sheer dresses, the sarongs and the caftan styles that let air flow but you feel a little more modest than walking around in just a swimsuit!
