Style Tip of the Day: How to Look Good in Baggy Shorts
With comfort first in mind this summer, loose clothing and oversize silhouettes are the focus in fashion. That includes shorts, too. My style tip of the day is a simple formula for how to look good in baggy shorts such as paperbag shorts, cargo shorts, etc. Age doesn’t matter.
Style Tip of the Day:
With paper-bag shorts (or cargo styles, flowy cotton or baggy linen shorts) tuck in a slim-fit tank or wear a boxier top. A strappy pair of sandals will keep things from looking too heavy.
Tucking a boxy shirt or top into loose shorts lends shape and finesse.
Besides a slim-fit tank, you may prefer to tuck in a fitted top such as a t-shirt. Chain jewelry is a modern addition since it is trending this season.
In lieu of tucking in a loose shirt, you might like to tie it at the waist for shape. A shirt that’s already made with a tie-front is a great addition to loose shorts that have a regular waist. It mimics the popular look of tie-waist paperbag shorts.

I feel like I like baggy, but when they’re not too short, they make me look shorter. I know I shouldn’t care tho. Haha. I’d opt for baggy ones but not too long.
Baggy ones can be cooler and they’re definitely more comfortable because of the roominess. But, yes, definitely get the perfect length for you. It’s good that you care how they look. My belief is that you should always look like your best self at any age.
I think all my shorts are baggy, lol. Nevertheless, I love these looks, so put together!
I haven’t worn shorts yet this summer because it’s so ultra hot compared to the past. I’ve been living in maxi dresses and kaftans. The weather is now forecasting high 70’s to low 80’s Fahrenheit so I’ll start pulling out my shorts. I have them in all kinds of shapes and materials…of course, because I love variety. Lol!
