Trench coats are a classic that keeps on trending in different ways. Today’s Style Tip gives you a quick and easy way to get a new look with your trench coat. Age doesn’t matter when you’ve got style.
I think of my beige midi-length trench as a raincoat. And yet, it’s a perfect transitional piece for spring and fall. A removable lining makes it adjustable for cooler or warmer weather. Or, simply layer under a lightweight trench for cold weather.
A classic look can be very basic and always the same. I like to accessorize to add more interest, even to outerwear. Hence, today’s style tip!
How to Get a New Look With Your Trench Coat
Style Tip: Belt your trench in (faux) leather.
I wore a cocoa brown belt over my classic beige trench the other day and got a compliment on it right away. It makes sense, because accessories just about always give your usual outfits a new look. And you can switch up your belts at any time. Try wide belts, obi belts, studded belts, braided belts, metallics, different colors and textures. Have fun with it!
Match or tone the color of your belt to your coat.
Add a belt in a high-contrast color to your trench.
In addition to the classic beige, there are so many colors and styles of trench coats nowadays! Why don’t you look through your belt wardrobe and see how easy it is to get a new look with your trench coat?
