Round white pearls are the classic. On the other hand, baroque pearls are unique in shape, size and color. Many are made into abstract jewelry pieces and new styles. They are often combined with colored gemstones. You may also have pearls in the colors of the rainbow. Consider all types of pearls when using the tips and outfit ideas that you’ll find here.

There are so many things being made with pearls now. And what a good idea wearing your eyeglass chain or your mask chain down your back when glasses or mask are on…whether made of pearls or not!

6 Style Tips for Wearing Pearls + 3 Bonus Tips:

  1. Pair pearls with unexpected pieces like denim and a graphic tee, or even a plain black or white tee.
  2. If you have warm coloring, you can wear silver jewelry and still look your best by mixing it with pearls. Of course, pearls look great mixed with gold jewelry too!
  3. Mix pearls with several other necklaces in a variety of textures, metals and lengths (i.e., pearls + a velvet choker + a long delicate pendant.)
  4. Try adding pearls to one of your usual outfits (whether bohemian, trendy, or whatever.)

  5. Attach pearls to belt loops.
  6. You can toughen up the look of pearls by mixing a few strands with heavy metal. On the other hand, pearls soften the look of menswear, sportswear or black leather pieces.
  7. Drape a long strand of pearls across the shoulder of a jacket.
  8. A complicated outfit or busy pattern needs a fine single strand of pearls, a pearl pendant or even a pearl lariat necklace.
  9. Mix pearls with chains or sparkle, such as rhinestones or diamonds.

  • These style tips for wearing pearls are fantastic! I love how they offer creative ways to embrace the classic elegance of pearls while adding a modern twist. Inspiring ideas!

    • I read long ago that pearls are a timeless staple that every woman should have. I like using them in unique ways. Glad you enjoyed the ideas here. I hope they are helpful to you. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  • The pearl hair accessories are stunning. I also love the mega ropes with the white top. I need a new white shirt with rolled sleeves to wear my traditional string of pearls that were originally given to me hidden in a Cracker Jack box and my triple strand pearl bracelet. Then I need to actually go somewhere, lol.

    • My friend said she wears a simple strand of pearls every day at home just to make that effort to add a special touch. Since quarantine, I’ve been trying to loosen up and wear things I wouldn’t normally wear around the house. I’m thinking, why not! It definitely is a new mindset to get used to. You could just wear one of your pearl pieces around the house with a white tee and jeans or casual bottoms – either the necklace or the bracelet. Oh, and you could wear the pearl necklace dressed down with a casual necklace. If you try it, let me know. You might inspire me to try something new, too!
