Style Tip of the Day: Here’s How to Mix Textures for Rich Outfits

In this installment of my Style Tips Series (HERE),  I have lots of examples to show how amazing your outfits can look when you mix textures. They will end up having a luxurious and fresh feeling of richness. In many cases, they will also feel cozy. I hope that this tip and the looks throughout this post will inspire you to create your own unique outfits that show your true self. I encourage you to shop your own closet to find ways to combine the different textures you already have. You might be surprised to find new ways to wear and enjoy your clothes!

Style Tip of the Day:  How to Mix Textures

Combine soft and cozy textures (velvet, cashmere, corduroy, tweed, felted wool) or contrast them with shiny satins, silks, leather and vinyl.

For vinyl, think PVC or faux leather. Vinyl pants are akin to leather but shinier. Sure, you can wear sexy leggings, but you can also get trousers, trench coats and shoes in vinyl. There’s always a tasteful way to create new looks for yourself.

Take a look at some of the ways you can combine these different textures in your outfits.

What textures do you have in your closet? Why don’t you take a look and try different ways to combine them? Whether they are all in one color or tone for a monochrome outfit or different colors with neutrals, can you see the richness in the overall look? Please leave a reply below and let me know how this works for you!
