How to Get More Outfits with a Jean Skirt

Embroidered Denim Pencil Skirt from Chico’s

Since I’m always thinking of how to get more outfits out of one article of clothing, guess what this post is about?  More outfits!…this time out of a jean skirt.  If you would like to be inspired with fresh ideas on how to wear a short jean skirt, you came to the right place.  By short, I’m talking about above the knee or knee-length.

I am sharing 35 ideas with you in this post.  For even more jean skirt ideas, you can read my post about long jean skirts in my post “How to Wear an Old Favorite:  The Denim Maxi Trend” HERE.

I love my jeans.  When I had to wear business clothes to work every day, I couldn’t wait to get home to the comfort of my jeans.  If I had to choose only one bottom to wear for the rest of my life, I could survive with blue jeans!

I also have a couple of jean jackets, a long denim skirt and a short denim skirt.  Once in awhile, a jean jacket comes in handy.  But with the skirts, I plan outfit combinations with them before I end up wearing them.

That’s because I prefer pants to skirts. If you are the type who prefers skirts to pants, a jean skirt could be as useful as blue jeans.  Just substitute a jean skirt and a tee for jeans and a tee.

Age doesn’t matter.  Anyone can wear denim.  Wear what you love and show your true self!

How to Wear a Denim Vest Your Own Special Way

Denim-Vest-Old Pueblo

Koret Stretch Jean Vest from Old Pueblo

Denim vests aren’t just for biker babes or cowgirls!  This staple updates classic outfits, making them look more stylish, and can even add a layer of warmth.  Age doesn’t matter.

Usually we think of wearing a denim vest on laid-back days.  But it can also dress down something fancy so that you can wear your special clothes anytime.

On cold days, you can add a denim vest under a jean jacket, or wear it over a cozy sweater with a scarf.

Besides denim blue, it comes in colors, patterns and sometimes with embroidery.

Unless the denim vest comes with matching jeans, it looks best with jeans in a different color or at least a different shade of blue.  It’s nice to let it stand alone as one denim piece and pair it with bottoms in a different material, like faux leather or ponte knit.  I would even dare say you could wear it with lace or chiffon or tulle.
