50 Ways to Get a Beautiful Business Casual Look

Do you have occasions to dress in business casual clothes?  Even if you are over 60, you may still be working.  Or maybe you work as a consultant or on a part-time or freelance basis.  Or you may attend conferences or events where you need to present yourself in a professional light.  Age doesn’t matter.  We are more healthy today and our bodies age more slowly than ever before.  Lifelong health plays a part, as well as medical advances and more opportunities to follow our bliss.  Following are 50 ways to get a beautiful business casual look, as well as the elements of style that can help you master it in even more ways!

Some elements that create a business casual look:

• dark-wash jeans,
• a zip-front or otherwise casual black blazer,
• laid-back bracelets,
• leggings with dressy skirt ensembles.

Dark Denim or Embellished Jeans

Black or white jeans, when crisp, un-ripped and paired with a dressy top or jacket, looks dressier than khakis.

If jeans are acceptable in your line of work, dark denim is the most dressed-up look.  Embellished denim might work where you work (no pun intended; lol!) but dark denim is best.

1. Day to Evening:  A black blazer + a gray v-neck t-shirt + jeans.  Add pumps.  For evening, add bling + a clutch.
2. From a hike in the woods to business casual:  Bootcut jeans + your favorite sweater + boots.  You might also want to add a plaid blazer.
3. Tone a cardigan and matching-color tank top to a blazer with jeans.  For example:  an ivory tank + an ivory cardigan + a beige tweed blazer + blue jeans.  You may then want to add a long gold pendant and a big gold watch.
4. White, gray, teal or black cardigan + dark denim + a blouse or tunic or an embellished sweater.
5. A pretty-color cardigan worn buttoned up as a top + dark denim.  Add a scarf in a color to match the cardigan.
6. A crisp button-down + dark denim.  Add chic ankle boots or colored flats.  Wear glasses at work or sunglasses if sunny.

   

7. A blazer + a shell top + embellished jeans. Add flats.
8. Dark denim or white jeans + a blazer.  You may then add a scarf, ballet flats, peep-toes, a delicate gold necklace, a gold bangle, a gold watch, sunglasses if sunny.
9. A blazer + skinny jeans.  Add luggage-color pumps.
10. Skinny dark-wash jeans + a sharp blazer + a shell of your choice.  Add heels.
11. A silk blouse + dark denim.  You may also like to add a jacket in navy or black.
12. A tunic-length white shirt + a nude camisole + dark skinny jeans.  Add black pumps or oxfords + gold jewelry.  Roll up your sleeves.

    

13. A white turtleneck tunic + dark indigo jeans + flat brown ankle boots.
14. Skinny dark blue or black jeans + a black or navy blazer.  Add a well-fitting button-down or a silky blouse + belt or sweater.
15. A classic black blazer + good jeans + a top, tank or sweater in your best color.  Add a shoe that matches your top + jewelry of choice.
16. A classic black blazer buttoned over a white shell + dark denim.
17. A black blazer + a long-sleeve gray t-shirt over skinny jeans.  Add brown ankle boots.

    

18. A black jacket + dark denim.  Add a great pair of heels and a fun bag.
19. A black blazer + a charcoal gray turtleneck + dark denim.  You may then add a black belt + flats + a brown shoulder bag.
20. A white blazer + a striped shirt + dark skinny jeans.
21. A navy or white blazer + a white or turquoise tank top + dark jeans.  Add large hoop earrings + a couple of cuffs on one wrist.
22. A pinstripe blazer buttoned in the middle over a white shirt + skinny blue jeans.  Add pumps or platforms.  Or add a cool necklace and ankle boots.

    

23. A velvet blazer + a matching-color blouse + dark denim.  If the blouse has long sleeves, roll the cuffs back on the blazer.
24. A tweed blazer + a striped shirt + blue jeans.  Add earrings.
25. A tweed blazer + a white top + blue jeans.  Add a skinny belt + necklaces.
26. A black watch plaid blazer + a blue sweater + dark denim.  Add hoop earrings.
27. A thick black turtleneck sweater + dark denim trousers.  Add a statement necklace + pumps.

T-Shirts

1. Casual Fridays:  A white t-shirt tucked into a floral skirt.  Add a bold-color accessory (shoes, bag, etc.)
2. A suit + a t-shirt + sneakers.
3. A black t-shirt + black pants + a cardigan.
4. A navy blue t-shirt + navy pants + a cardigan.
5. A long-sleeve white t-shirt over a black pencil skirt.  Add black pumps.

Spring & Summer

1. Casual Fridays:  A short-sleeve embellished t-shirt inside a pencil skirt.  Add sandals.
2. Casual Fridays:  A maxi dress, printed dress, pencil skirt and blouse, or a simple top and trousers outfit + a jean jacket.  Add a scarf for an elegant touch.  You might also like to add sandals and aviators.
3. Casual Fridays:  A tunic + slim trousers.  Add patterned slip-ons.
4. Rainy Day:  A t-shirt + a blazer + dark denim + waterproof shoes or boots.  Pair dark with bright.
5. A black tank top + tan trousers + an ivory blazer.  Add sandals.

More Business-Casual Outfit Ideas

1. Slouchy trousers + a slim-cut vest + a top of your choice.  Add sneakers.  Layer up in college knits and blazers as the weather gets cooler.
2. A suit + a polo shirt + sneakers.
3. Wear some bold bling with a solid jersey dress or something equally simple.
4. A navy blue t-shirt dress + a sleeveless black blazer + black leggings.  Add black pumps.

   

5. A dress + a cardigan belted over it (the cardigan does not have to meet in front.)
6. Pinstripe pants + a sweater set in a matching color.  For example:  Black pinstripe pants + a black sweater + black shell.  Add a short pendant + black shoes.
7. A longer-length blouse + black straight-leg pants + a tailored jacket.  Add a chunky necklace (maybe a long one) + heels.
8. A cardigan over a blouse + a pencil skirt or short jean skirt.  Tuck in the blouse and belt the cardigan, or leave untucked and omit belt.
9. A white shirt or blouse over a slim maxi skirt.  Add boots + a long statement necklace.

   

10. A classic black blazer + a simple tank top + gray corduroy pants.  Add a beaded necklace + boots + a bracelet.  Roll back sleeves to show bracelet.
11. A tunic belted over straight-leg pants or a pencil skirt.
12. A peach tunic + a white blazer + slim black trousers.  Add a gold belt + a necklace + gray pumps.
13. A long-sleeve tunic top + trousers.  Add flats or platforms.
14. A black microfleece top + a short black skirt.  Add black tights + riding boots + a pendant.
