When COVID-19 hit our part of the United States, the first thing I did was make sure I added vitamin C, echinacea, goldenseal and zinc to my daily vitamins. My husband followed suit and then asked me to come up with a list for our friends and neighbors of what supplements can help with immunity and stress. Going beyond that, I would also like to extend this information to you, my dear readers, in case you might be interested in this subject as well. I researched what over-the-counter supplements may help with immunity and stress.
The supplements I take help me and may be able to help you, too. When you are in good health and want to stay that way, it’s easy to feel that age doesn’t matter. Here’s to your enjoyment of life and a long future!

Hi! My sister and I just got back from the Ageless Beauty: Yoga & Wellness cruise to Cozumel. Hosted by Cindy Bartz, the yoga cruise had dozens of natural healing classes and events as well as private sessions to choose from. When you meet the instructors, you can see that when you practice wellness techniques age doesn’t matter because they are all glowing with vitality. So what happens at a yoga retreat on the sea? Let me tell you a little about it and share with you what I learned.
The weather wasn’t the greatest because of a storm that passed through, making the waters choppy. That made my first snorkeling adventure a little difficult, but I saw a baby shark and other fascinating sea life and had a fun trip overall.
I am sharing some of the information that I got from yoga classes on the cruise. Take a look and learn about whatever interests you. I hope it is helpful. And if you end up much healthier, come back and let me know!

Recently, my family and I went to hear Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha talk about her book documenting her experience in uncovering the tragic disaster of the Flint water crisis. As she told the audience what happened in Flint, it became clear that public health and a clean environment are ruled by politics. I am sharing news of this event with you because it is important for lifelong health — for you, your children and your grandchildren. Age doesn’t matter. Cultivating good health early in life improves the odds of living longer, and improving our environment is directly related to human health. What happens to others can spread to you and yours. But there are things you can do about it. You can affect what happens to your body and your environment.
My husband. Russ, is a long-time Commissioner of the Detroit Public Library. He interviewed Dr. Mona onstage at Detroit’s Osborn High School auditorium for the Michigan Humanities Great Michigan Read (GMR) program. I will present some talking points from the interview below. But first, let me introduce you to the GMR program and Dr. Mona.
