Imaginative Style Tip: How to Wear Suede Spring & Summer
Here’s a style tip showing how to wear suede Spring and Summer. It’s something I’ve enjoyed doing when transitioning to Fall. As I put this post together, I discovered that this is trending at the moment along with other styles that fit right in with it, such as lacy and flowy clothes and unexpected colors. So I hope you’ll enjoy this tip, the ideas and the visual stylings below. Age doesn’t matter when you try new things!
How to Wear Faux Suede Spring & Summer

Style Tip:
Wear a suede jacket as a jean jacket.
I’ve done this many times and it works beautifully! The next time you reach for a jean jacket, just substitute a suede version.
Even if you don’t plan a jacket into your outfit of the day, just grab one in suede on your way out the door when it’s cool out.
This year, suede is trending for both Spring and Summer for the second year in a row. It fits into the season very well when paired with linen, cotton and flowy pieces.
Suede jackets come in a wide range of colors that may be more evocative of warmer months.

At the same time, brown is continuing to be popular from last winter and is going strong into the Spring & Summer. Use any shade from coffee to tan.

Lighter colors and skin-baring silhouettes help keep suede chic and comfortable during the summer months.

Replace the outfit formula of denim jacket over floral dress by switching to a suede jacket instead.

If your jacket is brown or tan, pair it with Spring/Summer colors to make it fit right in. Browns look great with turquoise, light blue, white, cream and shades of green.
Think of Western styles, where a lot of suede pieces are traditionally worn in a warm climate.
Added Considerations
As I looked for outfit examples to show you, I found that suede shackets or shirt jackets are very popular for Spring 2026. So consider that as a possible substitute for your suede jacket as you use this style tip. I hadn’t even thought of my suede shirt that way. I’m definitely looking forward to trying that.
I like to stretch outfit ideas beyond one strict formula, so I will also be thinking about using my faux suede cut out and fringed ruana (which is like a kimono.) There are no limits, so feel free to stretch your imagination as far as it will go. And have fun!
NOTE: All mentions of suede in the post are meant to be faux/vegan in order to be kind to animals.

As a pink-lover, I have a faux suede-look spring jacket that I love and I’m looking for a pink denim jacket. It’s a lovely switch from a typical jean jacket. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! There are so many different colors of jackets, both suede and especially denim.
Such a practical tip! I never thought of swapping my denim jacket for a suede one in spring, but it makes total sense — especially pairing it with flowy fabrics and spring colors. The suggestion to try a suede shacket is a great idea too. Can’t wait to experiment with this!

Thanks for reading and commenting, Jason! I’d love to know what flowy fabrics you might wear with a suede jacket/shacket. Something like a tunic?
Thanks for the information
